Prop 65 Information

About Prop 65 Label

Prop 65, better known as the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act, was established in 1986 and requires warning labels to be placed on products sold in California that have been identified as causing cancer and reproductive toxicity. Initially created to keep California drinking water safe, the law today affects many different industries and encompasses more than 850 different chemicals found in everyday household items such as cosmetics, clothes, cars, jewelry, or furniture.

Since Coaster Company of America falls under that umbrella and distributes nationwide, all of our products contain a warning label indicating the possibility of having one of hundreds of items listed in Prop 65 with the following message: “WARNING: This product can expose you to chemicals including wood dust, which is known to the State of California to cause cancer or birth defects or other reproductive harm. A common sight for Californians, these labels may seem alarming to residents from other states that are not used to seeing them. However, we want to assure you that our products are produced with the highest quality standards and with the health and safety of our customers as our primary goal.

Our team continually strives to protect you from harmful substances and we make sure that you receive the highest quality products on the market. We want to thank you for placing your trust in us and our products for almost 40 years!
